JIM AND KELLY'S BIG DAY
these first 3 pics are from the Bad Brains DVD showing at the Khyber. i didn't wanna be a dick and have a flash going off so i put it on night mode and got these pieces of crap that could be pics of absolutely anything. oh well, they're kinda arty i guess.
8am, Snyder Ave.
Jim was getting married on Saturday so he wanted to camp out on Friday with some of the homeboys. this is up on his Grandmother's property in the township/village of Delabole just outside of Pen Argyl, PA. His grandmother had lived here forevs and way back in the day some Indians raided and slaughtered a family by the name of Kessler right down the road from where we were staying. Now it's all soybean fields and slate quarries. Jim's dad was saying how the family down the road just sold their property to Poland Springs (Nestle Corp.) for a cool 10 million bucks. first thing we did was get the fire going.
setting up tent city
this big piece of wood was from the Martin guitar company which is somewhere close by. it's Mahogany and it burned forever. Mr. Moyer got it from a friend who worked there. they used to use the smaller pieces on some kind of small guitar but they stopped making them so all the little pieces just became scrap. this thing seriously burned for hours and hours.
let's eat. bugs.
Chef Pank mans the pit.
the great thing about veggie burgers is that they take about 2 minutes to heat up.
Chim Chim made his way all the way down from Vancouver!
first view in the morning...
by now you should be getting used to black on black
after we got warmed up we took a walk around the property. there was all kinds of cool "old" stuff
the barn was awesome. so much fun stuff.
Chris, Dave and I headed back into town to start getting ready. no trip to Pen Argyl is complete without a stop at Pen Argyl Pizza. seriously, as soon as we finished breakfast Dave started asking when we were going to get pizza.
this ramp has some history.
rush job.
these 12 records alone are probably worth 4 times what my entire collection is worth. (I bet Dave doesn't have the National Lampoon's Vacation soundtrack on vinyl though)
old year books are fun.
raise your hand if you think Don should grow his hair back...
then it was off to the wedding!
I was in the ceremony so I couldn't snap any pics so my blogging duties had to be resumed once we got to the reception. the ceremony was super nice though. in the woods. lots of trees. all the chicks were moist in the seat cuz there was even a little waterfall and stuff. everybody was smiling and laughing. my nose was dripping cuz it was cold but who cares. only one person saw me snort snot back into my nose as I was walking down the aisle. it was really nice of them to point it out to everyone within earshot though. seriously, thanks for that...hey bud, let's party! Congrats to the newlyweds!
someday I'll figure out how to take an arm length self portrait without looking like a douchebag.
Congrats Jim and Kelly!
