Self Conscious/Divine Lorraine exploration

Self Consciousesses's first show. set sounded great from the stairwell.

back roads to Ktown. potassium stops the faces from melting. lesson learned.

animal lover/ex vegetarian

skate day with Matt and Andy

some spots were more funner than the rest. as always, we made the best of it.

the crowd was on edge for Andy's roast beef

never without a shaka and a smile

pre-trip shopping list

been wanting to get in here for years.

Dave and I finally pulled the trigger

just inside, looking back out through our entrance. we missed the heyday of Divine Lorraine exploration by a few years. as you'll soon see, all the floors have already been gutted. just google "Divine Lorraine" to find tons of pics on what it looked like inside before everything got salvaged. it was still sick to check out though. there's a cool history to the building too.

didn't take long to get creepy. Dave had his blade and I had the hatchet should any unforeseen circumstances arise. better safe than sorry.

all that really remains on the inside is the detailing in the stairwells, railings, window wells and on the support columns.

the stories of Frank Zappa's ghost were true! see the small arch centered on the back wall? that's where these used to be. i think this was the old dining hall.

before I knew it, I was taking in a view I had wanted to see since I first heard the history and found the building when I came to Philly.

heading back down

the lobby

on our way out we had a super sketchy run in with a dude. a 2 minute encounter that seemed to last a lifetime. to make a long story short, after a minute and a half of literally defining the term language barrier, were we relieved to discover he wasn't pulling a gun out of his pants. he just wanted to throw his bag of drugs at us. might be time to brush up on the old EspaƱol. be safe out there kids.

sometimes it's the little sessions that are the most memorable

important costume research

$2.99 to complete the silver fox look and i didn't even go to the party
